3.1 Data you actively provide to us
When you place an order with us, create a customer account, or contact us, we process, in particular:

You can place orders with us both with and without a customer account. A customer account is optional and facilitates the management of your orders and addresses.

6. Web Analytics and Marketing Tools
6.1 Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (for visitors from the EU/EEA area) as well as Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
GA4 helps us understand how our website is used. Data collected includes, among others, IP address (truncated), page views, device information, dwell time. Transfer to the USA is possible.

6.2 Google Ads, Google Merchant Center and Google Tag Manager
Provider: as in 6.1.
We use Google Ads and the Google Merchant Center to draw attention to our products and measure the success of our advertisements. Google Tag Manager organizes the loading of other tracking tools on our website.
6.3 Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram)
Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland; Meta Platforms, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.
The Meta Pixel allows us to display advertising on Facebook and Instagram more targeted and measure its success. Data processed includes, among others, IP address, browser information, visited pages, and actions (e.g., "product viewed", "added to cart").

7. Payment Processing
Depending on your selection during checkout, your payment data will be transmitted to the following service providers:
7.1 Shopify Payments (incl. TWINT, credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Union Pay)
Provider: Shopify International Limited, 2nd Floor Victoria Buildings, 1-2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, Ireland.
When paying by credit card, TWINT, or one of the other payment methods processed via Shopify Payments, payment data is processed directly by Shopify. We ourselves do not receive full card data.
7.2 Klarna
Provider: Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 11134 Stockholm, Sweden.
If you select a Klarna payment method, your data will be transmitted to Klarna. Klarna may carry out a credit and identity check.

8. Shipping
For the shipment of your order, we transmit the necessary data (name, delivery address, telephone number, email for shipment notifications) to our shipping partners:

9. Shopify as Shop System
Our website is hosted and operated with Shopify (Shopify International Limited, Dublin, Ireland; Shopify Inc., 150 Elgin Street, Suite 800, Ottawa, ON K2P 1L4, Canada).
Shopify processes all data you enter on our website or that arises during the order process on behalf of Marein AG. Transfer to countries outside the EU/EEA (especially Canada and the USA) is possible. Shopify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and additionally uses standard contractual clauses.

10. Data Transfer Abroad
Some of our service providers are based or have their servers outside Switzerland and the EU – particularly in the USA and Canada.
These transfers are based on:
- EU standard contractual clauses
- EU-US Data Privacy Framework (where certified)
- Your explicit consent (e.g., for marketing cookies)
We carefully select our service providers and ensure an adequate level of data protection.
11. Storage Period
We store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by law:
- Customer account and order data: 10 years (Swiss retention obligation according to Art. 958f CO)
- Contact inquiries: up to 2 years after completion
- Tracking and analysis data: usually 14 months (GA4 standard), varies depending on the tool
- Server logs: maximum 30 days

You have the right at any time to:
- Information about what data we process about you
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure of your data (unless there is a legal retention obligation)
- Restriction of processing
- Data portability (provision in a common format)
- Objection to certain processing operations
- Withdrawal of granted consents with effect for the future
